To accommodate the growing hospitality demand throughout the Chicago River North area, the client wanted to build this unique three-hotel complex. The project consists of three separate and competing brands including Hyatt Place, Fairfield Inn & Suites, and aloft Hotels. The three hotels have 212, 180, and 272 guest rooms, respectively, for a total of 664 guest rooms. Each hotel entrance faces a different street to allow for distinct identities between hotels.
The exterior materials of the hotel are a mixture of stone and glass systems, creating a pedestrian-oriented image to the ground floor. Along the three street facades, the hotels’ upper floors will be faced with a combination of aluminum window wall and pre-cast concrete, with different expressions for each hotel
The project was completed while I was working for HOK.
